How Tryps Sails Greece!

Welcome to the most tropical part of the country which will feel like it was stopped in time during ancient Greece. The Ionian Islands, off the western coast of mainland Greece, are renowned for their stunning natural landscapes, picturesque beaches with crystal-clear waters, rugged coastlines, lush green hills, and olive groves.

The journey starts in Corfu, famous for its cobblestone streets and pastel-coloured Venetian architecture. Imagine then sailing along the scenic Ionian Sea, everyday approaching a new coastal destination. Onboard your private yacht, you will make stops in Agios Stefanos, Plataria, Parga where you will have time to swim in the baby blue water, soak of the Grecian sun, and explore on land. You will also discover the islands of Paxos and Antipaxos where legend has it that Poseidon himself (God of the Sea) carved this region to create a peaceful place for him and his wife. Let’s not forget the many delicious Greek feasts that you will enjoy, as the Ionian region boasts a long culinary tradition of local cuisine based on olive oil, local wines, figs, honey with its aromatic taste, fruit liqueur, meat, cheese and the tasteful legumes. All this beauty will be shared with the great company of like-minded travelers.

DAY 01

Welcome to GREECE!

Your journey starts on the famous island of Corfu, known for its Venetian architecture and stunning beaches. This is among the most highly sought islands in Greece with rich multicultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes. The meeting point is Marina Gouvia where we will stock up on food for the week and enjoy our first of many Greek feasts with the crew. Upon arrival you’ll be greeted by your Skipper and Trip Leader, and meet the rest of your crew. This first day will be dedicated to settling into your yacht, gathering groceries with your crew, and preparing to conquer the Ionian Sea!

DAY 02

Petriti

Off we go to the serene coastal town of Petriti. Along the way we will make our first stop at the green uninhabited island of Vido. A special attraction of this small and unique island is the abundance of various animals that live freely on the island, like ducks, guineafowl, pheasants, quails, rabbits and even wild goats! We’ll hang out at sea, admire the scenery, and do some snorkeling along the coast. We then arrive at Petriti - what makes this town special is that it is the main fishing port on the island of Corfu. There, we will feast at a traditional taverna serving the freshest fish overlooking the seashore. The delicious food and the lively atmosphere will make you feel like you’re living a scene of a Greek movie!

DAY 03

Lakka

Lakka is a hidden paradise surrounded by the greenery of olive groves and cypresses. Its picturesque waterfront is lined with colorful fishing boats, and is home to pristine beaches fringed by olive groves and pine trees. The quaint streets are made up of traditional whitewashed houses and vibrant bougainvillea flowers which create a postcard-worthy scene. We will hang out in one of the nearby bays to snorkel, as this area has the most impressive reefs in the entire reservoir!

DAY 04

Gaios

A larger, extremely lively town on the island of Paxos. Before settling on the island we’ll sail around the gorgeous perimeter of the island, stopping at some of the most secluded beaches along the coastline - ideal for sunbathing and swimming in crystal-clear waters. Upon arrival in Gaois, you will enjoy a day of leisure where you can relax on the beach, explore the city, and even hop on a scooter to discover the island. Wander through the narrow streets of the old town, sip Greek coffee at a waterfront café while watching the world go by. You’ll have ample time to feast on mouthwatering Greek cuisine at local tavernas, where freshly caught seafood and regional delicacies are abundant. Here you’ll get the ultimate taste of Greek island life.

DAY 05

Parga

We will make a morning journey to the island of Antipaxos - internationally known for its beaches and exotic turquoise waters. Breakfast will be enjoyed on the yacht, admiring the natural landscape, and bathing in the warm waters. We then continue our journey to Parga, among the most beautiful cities on the Ionian Coast! This idyllic coastal town boasts a kaleidoscope of pastel-colored buildings cascading down lush hillsides, overlooking azure waters and bright green islets. It also has an impressive Venetian fortress towering on the cliffs above, offering panoramic views of the town and sea below. The charming colourful streets are filled with cute pubs, boutiques, and authentic restaurants. We’ll spend a relaxing day here to feel the extraordinary atmosphere of this magical place!

DAY 06

Syvota

Today we head to the picturesque village of Syvota which is admired for its fascinating Blue Caves. These sea caves feature stunning blue waters and impressive rock formations, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Along the way, we will sail through the various islets in the region including Mavro Oros, Agios Nikolaos, and Mourtemeno. Upon arrival to the mainland you’ll have time to discover this laid-back town. You’ll understand why Syvota has been called the “Caribbean of Greece” - the greenery, the turquoise water, the islands - creating a tranquil coastal experience.

DAY 07

Kerkyra

The capital city of the island of Corfu, known for cobblestone streets and pastel-coloured Venetian architecture. We will explore the Old Town of Corfu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where Venetian, French, and British influences blend seamlessly in coloruful architecture, bustling markets, and winding alleyways. We will venture into the island’s narrow streets and climb the surrounding hills to admire the incredible views. This will be the final night of the adventure - we’ll end with a delicious farewell meal with the entire crew and an opportunity to explore some Greek island nightlife!

DAY 08

Corfu

Today we dock the boat at port and pack our bags. We head back home with amazing memories and a new travel family. A sailor’s salute to the crew! Where one journey ends, another Tryp begins.
