For those seeking an authentic and raw experience of what this country is all about: people, music, dance, food, nature - a celebration of life itself!

Every few days we head to a new region of Colombia with a completely distinct terrain, culture and feel. Start off in the bustling city of Medellin where we learn about the real life trauma of the drug cartels, visit traditional coffee farms, and party in one of the biggest nightlife scenes in Latin America. Then, head to the beach town of Palomino on the Caribbean coast to relax, explore local indigenous communities and visit wildlife sanctuaries. Continue along the coast and hike through the the lush jungles of Tayrona National Park to a secluded beach front ecolodge. Finally, discover the enchanting city of Cartagena with boutique shopping, salsa dance parties, rum & chocolate tastings and a private colonial villa as your home for the last few nights. In 12 days you’ll pass through city, jungle, desert and beach. Embrace a new rhythm of life and celebrate the beauty of Colombia!

DAY 01

WELCOME TO COLOMBIA!

As you touch down in Medellín, be sure to gaze out and catch a breathtaking aerial view of the city nestled amidst lush green mountains. Upon arrival at José María Córdova International Airport, our dedicated Tryps team will be waiting to ensure a seamless transition to your exclusive shuttle service to your hotel. En route, prepare to be captivated by the vibrant energy and dynamic atmosphere that defines Medellín. On your first evening, take the opportunity to settle into your accommodations, mingle with your fellow travelers, and savor a delightful welcome dinner amidst the heart of this bustling Colombian city.

WELCOME TO COLOMBIA!

As you touch down in Medellín, be sure to gaze out and catch a breathtaking aerial view of the city nestled amidst lush green mountains. Upon arrival at José María Córdova International Airport, our dedicated Tryps team will be waiting to ensure a seamless transition to your exclusive shuttle service to your hotel. On your first evening, take the opportunity to settle into your accommodations, mingle with your fellow travelers, and savor a delightful welcome dinner amidst the heart of this bustling Colombian city.

DAY 02

ESCAPADE TO GUATAPÉ

Today, we embark on an exhilarating day trip to Guatapé, a colourful town renowned for its stunning landscapes and panoramic views! Buckle up for a scenic drive winding through mountains. We'll kick-start our adventure with a traditional arepa breakfast in a local village en route. Then, get your adrenaline pumping with a hike up El Peñol rock for panoramic vistas. Afterwards, hop aboard for a boat excursion to explore water reserves, visit a secluded island, and savor a delicious lunch in a local's home. Dive into the colorful town's rich history with a short guided walking tour, and explore the boutique shops, traditional musical performances and and vibrant colours of Guatapé. Finally, we'll head back to Medellín, with a stop at Fundapaisa - a local pub - where we’ll sip the national drink of Auguardiente to cap off our first day in Colombia.

DAY 02

Indulge in an Exotic Fruit Tour, sampling Colombia's most alien fruits like pitahaya, uchuva, mangostino (and more!).Then, we dive into the heart of Medellin's transformation with a visit to Comuna 13, once plagued by drug cartel violence and government oppression, now a beacon of community resilience and creativity. Our guide, a local resident who lived through this trauma, will give us a detailed explanation of how the neighbourhood went from being the most dangerous region in the world to a prosperous community filled with art, music, and culture. Cap off the day with dinner at the renowned Andres Carne de Res, followed by a lively pub crawl through the city's salsa, bachata, and reggaeton hotspots.

Then, on brand with our easy paced day on the coast, we’ll go river tubing down the Don Diego river. In other words, lay back, enjoy a cold beer, and buy an empanada at one of the floating huts selling snacks along the ride. As night falls, there is an option to head to a beach party, enjoy some Salsa dancing and Reggaeton music under the stars.

DAY 05

SUN, BEACH & SAND

After 3 big days in Medellín, dive into a day of pure relaxation. Then, we venture to the town of Camarones, aptly named for its abundance of shrimp living in the lagoons. And with an abundance of shrimp, comes thousands of exotic birds ready to feast. A local fisherman will tour us onboard his raft, while we sit back and take in our very own National Geographic real life moment. The day ends with our guide hosting us in his home for a fresh seafood feast. a true taste of coastal Colombia's treasures.

DAY 06

Trekking through dense jungle foliage, catch glimpses of playful monkeys swinging through the lush canopy and maybe even encounter indigenous communities en route. With each step, immerse yourself deeper into the raw beauty of the wilderness, pausing at scenic viewpoints to admire the untouched landscape. After a challenging hike, we’ll arrive at our secluded eco lodge on a private beach surrounded by palm trees, coconuts and white sand. Spend the day under the nearby waterfall, swimming in the sea, or just relaxing under the star-studded sky and drift off to sleep to the rhythmic lullaby of the waves crashing against the shore.

DAY 07

As we bid farewell to the jungle, we set our sights on Barranquilla, renowned as the birthplace of Colombian icon Shakira. Upon arrival, delight in a scenic dinner as we soak in the vibrant sunset of this carnival city. As night falls, we continue our journey to our final destination: Cartagena. Here, we settle in a private luxurious colonial villa which we call home for the last few nights of our adventure.

DAY 08

SHAKIRA, SHAKIRA!

As we bid farewell to the jungle, we set our sights on Barranquilla, renowned as the birthplace of Colombian icon Shakira. Upon arrival, delight in a scenic dinner as we soak in the vibrant sunset of this carnival city. As night falls, we continue our journey to our final destination: Cartagena. Here, we settle in a private luxurious colonial villa which we call home for the last few nights of our adventure.

THE HEAT OF CARTAGENA

Take the morning to yourself and as you enjoy free time exploring the city, lounging on the beach, or unwinding at our villa’s private pool and breathtaking views. Later in the afternoon join a walking tour of Cartagena, where Spanish, Indigenous, and African influences intertwine to create the city’s unique identity. Afterwards, we treat you to an exclusive 4-course meal of local cuisine at the acclaimed Arsenal Rhum Box. Then, to kick off the fiesta, enjoy a loal rum and choclate tasting. Come night time, things get spicy with a a salsa dance class capped off with a pub crawl through the eclectic graffitti filled streets of Getsemani - expect live salsa music, dancing and a whole lot of heat!

DAY 09

THE HEAT OF CARTAGENA

Take the morning to yourself and as you enjoy free time exploring the city, lounging on the beach, or unwinding at our villa’s private pool and breathtaking views. Our journey leads us to the Rosario Islands, 27 pristine isles south of the Bay of Cartagena surrounded by crystal clear, baby blue water. Dive in and swim through the  coral reefs and sensational snorkeling opportunities that define Caribbean paradise. As the day draws to a close, we’ll spend the sunset on the water form our boat, sharing drinks and good vibes. Salud to Cartagena!

DAY 10

ISLAND HOPPING IN ROSARIO

This morning we stack up on snacks and drinks, and set sail on a private boat for a day of island hopping, beach exploration, and snorkeling along the stunning coast of Cartagena. Our journey leads us to the Rosario Islands, 27 pristine isles south of the Bay of Cartagena surrounded by crystal clear, baby blue water. Dive in and swim through the  coral reefs and sensational snorkeling opportunities that define Caribbean paradise. As the day draws to a close, we’ll spend the sunset on the water form our boat, sharing drinks and good vibes. Salud to Cartagena!

Cartagena is the undisputed queen of the Caribbean coast, a historic city of superbly preserved beauty lying within 13 kilometers of centuries-old stone walls. This day is yours to explore! Delve into the walled city's labyrinthine streets, brimming with eclectic shops and boutiques. Or, immerse yourself in a hands-on cooking class, celebrating the rich coastal Afro-Caribbean flavors. As the day draws to a close, we’ll savour the final sunset together from the renowned Café del Mar, followed by our farewell dinner.

DAY 11

THE WALLED CITY
