How Tryps Camps in the Backcountry!

This 3-day backcountry camping trip through Algonquin Park will allow you to live in the heart of Canadian wilderness. What is truly unique about this experience is two-fold: first, you will be portaging which refers to navigating through water and land in a canoe. Just like in the movies, there will be moments where you’ll carry your canoe above your head (it’s not as heavy as you imagine and you will learn the right technique!). Second, your destination and home for two nights will be so deep in the wild that it can only be accessed by water and foot.

You will be surrounded by tranquility we often forget still exists; fresh air, gorgeous sunsets, and a blanket of shining stars will be your environment. It's a rare opportunity to break away, connect with nature, and live the untamed beauty of the Canadian backcountry. All the equipment that you need is provided - you just  have to show up and be ready to adventure the great Canadian outdoors.

DAY 01

Paddle Up!

Welcome to Canada’s phenomenal Algonquin Park! You are at the heart of Canadian wilderness where you will be immersed in the dense forests and crystal clear lakes of the oldest provincial park in Canada. Upon arrival you will be greeted by your Trip Leader and fellow adventurers. Here we’ll get you fully equipped with your canoe and all the camping equipment you need for this expedition. You aren’t required to bring any camping gear, we take care of everything! Your crew will undergo a quick orientation session about portaging and the terrain you will explore. And away you go into the wild! You will paddle through five gorgeous lakes and many acres of beautiful forest to reach your final destination where you will set-up camp. After an active day you will have a well deserved meal and sleep like a baby under a blanket of stars.

DAY 02

Exploring Algonquin

Today you will wake up to the invigorating scent of fresh pine in the crisp Canadian forest air, ready to start your day with a hearty campfire breakfast. We set out to explore the pristine lakes and rugged terrain of Algonquin Park, immersing yourself in the breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife that call this wilderness home. As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, we will embark on a Sunset Wildlife Canoe Ride, a magical journey through the tranquil lakes. Keep your eyes peeled for moose, beavers, and other elusive creatures as you glide silently through the twilight. As night falls, we’ll gather around the campfire under a blanket of stars, roasting marshmallows and indulging in delicious s'mores.

DAY 03

The Return Journey

As the sun sets on this unforgettable adventure, it's time to begin the return journey. With hearts full of memories and spirits lifted by nature's embrace, we pack up our campsite. Drifting along the water one last time, our canoe ride back is a reflective journey, filled with great stories and laughter. As we reminisce on our adventures, we feel a sense of pride in what we've accomplished on this expedition. With newfound friendships forged amidst the wilderness, our journey isn't just about the sights we've seen, but the bonds we've formed. This truly unique Canadian adventure has left a real mark on us, reminding us of the beauty of nature and the joy of friendship! Where one journey ends, another Tryp begins.
